CONTENT

Park Hyunki was much more interested in the visual and sensory materiality of CRT monitors than the narrative of moving images.

After producing his first video work in 1979 of a lighting device reflected in water, he would produce his “TV stone towers” that maintain the form of prior stone tower but replacing artificial stones with TV monitors. The piece received much international acclaim at 1979’s São Paulo Art Biennial and 1980’s Paris Biennale.
