KoRICA에서는 2025년도 학술연구지원 사업과 관련하여 지원자의 다양한 연구 및 실무 배경을 반영하기 위해 아래와 같은 자격 예외 심사 제도(Eligibility Exception Review)를 운영하고자 합니다. “국내외 미술관에서 3년 이상의 큐레이터 경력을 보유한 박사과정 재학자 또는 전문가”가 본 제도의 대상에 해당합니다.

본 제도는 다양한 연구 배경과 실무 경험을 지닌 전문가들의 참여 기회를 확대하고, 우수한 연구 및 실무 인재의 참여를 장려하며 지원 기회를 넓히기 위해 마련되었습니다. 또한 학술 연구와 실무 현장을 유기적으로 연결하고, 보다 폭넓은 참여와 협력이 이루어질 수 있는 지원 기반을 마련함으로써, 포용적이고 유연한 연구 환경을 조성하는 것을 목표로 합니다.

1. 예외 심사 유형

① 사전 자격 심사제 (Pre-Eligibility Review)

지원 자격 요건을 충족하지 않는 지원자는 정식 지원 전에 사전 검토를 요청할 수 있습니다. 박사과정에 재학 중이며 국내외 미술관에서 3년 이상의 큐레이터 경력을 보유한 경우, 본 제도를 통해 예외 심사를 신청할 수 있습니다.

② 기관 추천 기반 예외 검토 (Endorsement-Based Exception)

국내외 미술관, 박물관, 대학 등 공신력 있는 기관의 공식 추천서가 있으며, 3년 이상의 관련 경력을 보유한 경우,별도의 예외 심사를 통해 지원 가능 여부를 판단합니다.

※ 단, 추천서 제출만으로 자동 수락되는 것은 아니며, KoRICA 이사진 또는 외부 심사위원 2인 이상의 동의가 있어야 예외 적용이 가능합니다.

2. 제출 서류

– (해당 시) 기관의 공식 추천서

※ 모든 제출 서류는 자유 형식으로 작성 가능합니다.

3. 제출 방법

서류는 반드시 KoRICA 공식 이메일(info@korica.org)로 제출해 주시기 바랍니다. 제출 시 이메일 제목에 해당 유형을 반드시 명시해 주시기 바랍니다.

4. 심사 절차 및 일정

제출된 서류는 KoRICA 이사진 또는 외부 심사위원 2인 이상의 검토를 거쳐 지원 가능 여부를 개별 회신해 드립니다.

※ 예외 심사 결과 회신은 해당 사업 마감일 최소 1주 전까지 완료되어야 하며, 원활한 심사 진행을 위해 2주 전까지 서류를 제출해 주시기 바랍니다.

KoRICA (Korean Research Institute of Contemporary Art) is introducing the Eligibility Exception Review to recognize the diverse academic and professional backgrounds of applicants for the 2025 Research Support Program. Applicants who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program and have at least three years of curatorial experience at a museum or art institution in Korea or abroad are eligible for this review.

This system aims to broaden participation opportunities for researchers and professionals with varied expertise, to encourage outstanding contributions in both academic and practical fields, and to expand access to research support. By fostering a closer connection between academic research and professional practice, KoRICA seeks to build an inclusive and flexible research environment that encourages collaboration and engagement across disciplines.

1. Types of Exception Review

① Pre-Eligibility Review

Applicants who do not fully meet the formal eligibility requirements may request a preliminary review prior to submitting an official application. In particular, doctoral students with at least three years of curatorial experience at a museum or art institution in Korea or abroad may apply for an exception review under this category.

② Endorsement-Based Exception

Applicants who hold an official letter of endorsement from a credible institution, such as a museum, art institution, or university (domestic or international), and have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience, may be considered for eligibility through a separate review process.

※ Please note that submission of an endorsement letter does not guarantee approval. Exception status will only be granted with the agreement of at least two KoRICA board members or external reviewers.

3. Submission Guidelines

All documents must be submitted via KoRICA’s official email (info@korica.org).

4. Review Process and Timeline

All submitted materials will be reviewed by two or more KoRICA board members or external reviewers, and applicants will be notified individually of the review outcome.

※ The exception review results must be finalized at least one week prior to the program deadline. To ensure timely processing, please submit all required documents no later than two weeks before the deadline.
