WORLD SERIES OF VIDEO GAMES AND CSTV ANNOUNCE DETAILED SCHEDULE OF WSVG FINALS COVERAGE BEGINNING JANUARY 21


NEW YORK – January 17, 2007 – The World Series of Video Games presented by Intel (WSVG), the first international video game competition circuit for multiple game platforms, today announced details for a five-week series airing on CSTV, chronicling the 2006 WSVG Finals that was taped at the CSTV Field House in New York City. The new series is the first step in an expanded 2007 collaboration between the two companies, which will include further digital media initiatives and development of a college gaming circuit.

CSTV: College Sports Television, a CBS company, will air complete coverage of the first World Series of Video Games Finals on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET beginning January 21.
95 gamers who qualified on the WSVG Circuit in 2006 were flown to New York to compete in the three day competition. 

Sunday, January 21 – 9:00 pm ET (1 hour)
Video Game Superstars Presented by Intel
Originally aired on CBS December 30th, this one-hour special, hosted by Quddus and produced by Juma Entertainment, tells the compelling personal stories of five rising stars in the competitive video gaming world.  Filmed during the World Series of Video Games Finals and on location from the gamers' hometowns, the program focuses on Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, the world champion gamer who has become the "Michael Jordan" of the sport; David "Moto" Geffon, whose decision to go pro bucked the tradition of his family of lawyers; Shannon "Mary Jane" Ridge, the minister's daughter who is now a Halo run-and-gunner; Matt "Ballistics" Powers whose prowess at "Ghost Recon" is honed as a Sergeant at maximum security prison Pelican Bay and tempered as a father of two; and Rafik “LoSt-CaUzE” Bryant, a gifted Quake 4 gamer and  talented illustrator.

Sunday, January 28 – 9:00 pm ET (1 hour)
WSVG Quake 4 Finals Presented by Intel
This hour-long episode, focused on the final eight gamers of the Quake 4 competition, chronicles the dramatic journey of the gaming world's top star Fatal1ty as he battles his way against top competitors from around the world. The victor ultimately walked off with a $20,000 cash prize and a Rolex watch.

Sunday, February 11 – 9:00 pm ET (1 hour)
WSVG Project Gotham Racing 3 Finals Presented by Intel
CSTV coverage of the Project Gotham Racing 3 Finals delivers the smell of asphalt directly to your home. The winner walked home with a $20,000 cash prize and a Rolex watch.

Sunday, February 18 – 9:00 pm ET (1 hour)
WSVG Halo 2 Finals Presented by Intel
Four teams of four players each battle it out in the finals for a $20,000 cash prize and Rolex watches. 

Sunday, February 25 – 9:00 pm ET (1 hour)
WSVG Counter-Strike 1.6 Finals Presented by Intel
Documenting the Counter-Strike Finals journey of ten teams made up of five players each, CSTV brings home the battle against virtual urban terrorism. Who walks off with the grand prize of $50,000?
